Calcium Carbonate is also known as chalk or limestone.
WINEMAKING & BREWING: Use Calcium Carbonate to lower the acidity (increase pH) in your wine or brewing/distilling mash. Add 1/2 tsp prior to fermentation to lower acidity ~0.1%. 1 gram per gallon adds 106 ppm calcium and 158 ppm carbonate.
BAKING: Use it to adjust the acidity of the baking ingredients. It can act as a food preservative and color retainer. Dosage varies, but typically add 0.1 – 2.0% by weight to the dry ingredients.
COOKING: Many more uses in the kitchen! Use it in preparing pickles, cheese, noodle, candy, chocolate, tomato, etc.
OTHER: Calcium Carbonate can be consumed directly to increase calcium levels.
