Will it catch very large rats or squirrels?
The opening is 3.1″ by 3.4″, anything that is smaller than that may be caught.
What is the most effective bait, and how to insert?
Place a small amount of bait such as peanut butter on the back wall of the unit, away from the metal plates on the floor of the trap. Use a cotton swab, toothpick or another tool to bait.
Is the zapper safe around my child or pet?
As a safety function, the shocking feature will not be activated unless both plates are stepped on simultaneously, to prevent accidents.
The red light on my zapper is flashing constantly?
When a rodent is caught, the red light will flash once every 7 seconds. The trap is sensitive, be sure it is free of hair, dirt, or residue before turning on.
A rapid red flash may indicate that batteries don’t have enough power to kill a rodent.
